Georgia

Georgia!  No not the one in America but Caucasus Georgia ๐Ÿ™‚. We crossed the border between Turkey and Georgia in the north part , on the Black Sea coast. The Turkish border crossing was extremely unorganised and confusing. Franco and I got split, I had to proceed on foot and we met again already on the Georgian side. Georgian custom officers were very friendly and smiley ๐Ÿ˜. The border crossing at Sarpi Is extremely chaotic. Please don't try to buy SIM card, exchange money or buy the compulsory car insurance there cause they will literally rip you off! With prices higher more than the 10€ on average. From Sarpi you get to the most known cosmopolitan resort city in Georgia - Batumi. Batumi is an entertainment centre for this side of the world with skyscrapers, casinos and seaside resorts. It was very busy but we really liked it- there is a good balance between new and old architecture. Driving in Georgia can be challenging, on the busy and rural roads you will ...

Bulgaria part.3

Indovinate dove siamo ancora?

Bulgaria part 2

The most known mountain national parks are Pirin and Rila. We stopped at the first one. Found a free camping site close to trekking routes and fantastic restaurant.  What's great about Bulgaria is that most of the parking spots close to the attractions are for free.Other curiosity is that the places are not crowded. I don't know if it's because it's early or maybe bulgarians go to the mountains only in winter. There was more foreign tourists that bulgarians. Anyway we were stunned by the beauty of Pirin. Did a challenging red route, 1000m elevation gain so our legs were shaky at the end. So worth it though! From there we were close to Belitsa Bear Park which is an animal sanctuary for bears that used to be in captivity, being used as a dancin g bears. This usance is banned since 1998 but was very popular in balcanic countries. There are about 15 of them. We got to see 5.Their eyes seemed sad. One of the bears behaviour affected me hard-...

Bulgaria

I love Bulgaria! We didn't realise this country has so much to offer! From numerous mountain chains, thermal pools to lakes and sea. Wild camping isn't a problem here since it seems every bulgarian owns a roulotte ๐Ÿ™‚.  Meet Baba Vanga- bulgarian Nostradamus. Known in all balcanic region and post sovietic bloc countries ( I heard of her in Poland), mystic and healer who claimed to have foreseen the future. She made a lot of prophecies some of which has come true like 9/11, brexit or Barack Obama becoming a president. We visited the visitors centre created by her foundation. It's a special place for bulgarians as we have sensed a solemn atmosphere.  I have to admit though that we went there because of the free thermal pools๐Ÿ˜Š. Bulgaria is full of thermal centres! This one was great with boiling hot water source and everyone chilling in open space. We decided to have a bath in the evening cose with 35 °C during the day only bulgarians were brave enough t...

Bye Bye Italy

After more than 2 weeks we said goodbye to Puglia. We went to a kite festival, seen the Poetry cave and revisited Otranto which is a bit special for me and Franco. The love magic between us happened here on holiday and obviously never left ๐Ÿ˜„.We met new friends!  and with new friends you always have wine and food! Marco and Manuela are travelling and working, creating beautiful macrame jewellery and selling it on local fairs. You can follow them on Instagram nananero_macrame Look what I got myself ๐Ÿ™‚ We spent the last day on the beach with Amelia, Vinicio, Tekla and Emanuele.Tekla is Georgian and since we're planning to get there as well she gave us her brother's contact details. Avko is a tourist guide in Georgia. We're looking forward to share a beer together and get an insider look on the country. Franco had to get some new fishing equipment so we found this great shop StyleSport2 in Magli...
