Clean Monday
Monday morning room view🙂
Yesterday was a holiday day in Greece called Clean Monday. It's kind of an equivalent of our ash Wednesday. It's a day that marks the passage between the end of carnival and start of fast. I only discovered it because we wanted to have lunch in Taverna but they were to busy so no luck.
As tenacious as we are when it comes to food we've decided to stay there and try in the evening.
Just about when we were leaving for restaurant ,a German couple that we' ve met a day earlier ( that recommended us the place) were passing by.
We decided to go in together and suprise suprise they weren't taking any more client's. Sad for food but happy to invite Thomas and Beatrix to our home, we shared a bottle of wine together with funny stories and love and enthusiasm that they were radiating. They have just bought a house in Goudouras! We wish you guys all the best in the future project🙂
We' re visiting south central part of Crete. It's more difficult from driving point of view
(thank you Franco for driving us!)
There isn't any coastal road connecting seaside villages, so you move in vertical lines that part from the main road.We love this part of the island, wild and not so touristy.
We are staying outside of the village called Tsoutsoura for few days.
Forgot to ask, is anyone of you been to Crete? Can you recommend any places or experiences?
