Paelochora

A Sunday bicycle stroll in Paelochora.
 Sleepy and lazy weekend atmosphere.
The port seemed quite abandonded with a few shipwrecks.
City centre is very cute and gives you a typical greek atmosphere.Makes you want to immediately stay on the outside porch of the Caffe and sip your Nescafé Frappe watching time go by.Noticed this gorgeous abandoned house!
And of course at the end of the trip, iced Mythos beer to rehydrate. 🙂
Today a hiking trip into Anidri Gorge which leads you to the Anidri Village, 5 km inland from Paelochora. Sadly almost all of the villas are occupied by foreigners as you can see on post boxes, there are only few greek names. 
Tourism is a good thing but it can also destroy the identity of places.😔
Cretan bananas are delicious! They are half the size of the regular banana and sweeter.
We finished the tour by visiting the village church with its byzantine art.

Meravigliosa!Wow! Where to start! So far one of my preferred places in our travels. Franco has been here few times before. But I didn't expect it to be so beautiful! It has this special atmosphere maybe because it's very small roughly 20km X 20 km. It's four of us, Franco and I, Liz our friend that often goes on holidays with us and Davide that stays here 6 months a year but comes from Travo which is close to where we all live. It's always great to have an insider that knows all the stuff about the island 🙂 They all spearfish so we have fish every day!!There's only one town on the island- Carloforte with it's majestic ficus trees in the main square. Journey back home

Well it's finally time to go home🙂 Franco is not jumping of joy.He would like to go fishing everyday but I always like to come back. We're taking it easy since it's more than 1000km.  First sleepover Campomarino close to Parco Nazionale di Gargano. A small sea side town with long sandy beaches. Next stop a small regional Park outside Pesaro, popular for bicycle ride amongst locals. We normally drive 250 km a day, since 80km/h is Rocco's comfortable zone. We did a little stopover in Chioggia, gracious city situated on a lagoon with Venice nearby it's a less touristy option for a daily sightseeing trip. Than before arriving at Sandrigo to do some minor works on camper we stayed in Valstagna. Wanted to visit Grotte Oliero, unfortunately they were closed but it stays on our list.
