North East Poland
We' ve spent few days in lake district in Poland - Mazury. The lake Śniardwy is the biggest lake in Poland but you can choose amongst two thousand other smaller lakes ( yes more than two thousand!!! 😲I didn't know that!).We finally made a proper camp, took out the chairs and the table which declared that this piece of land is ours for 3 days.
There were a lot of people for the weekend but we've managed to find a quiet spot. Everyone was in the water but since we're spoiled and used to clear waters we didn't feel brave enough to have a swim. We found this shells all over and discovered there are mussels in the lake, not edible though🥲.
On Saturday we celebrated our tenth anniversary 🥂, 🎉, congrats to both of us🙂.We grilled, ate, drunk and watched the sunset. Then on our way we stopped at Hitler's bunkers in Gierloz.
A very interesting and visited historic attraction. It was like a small city full of bunkers where at some point 5000 people were employed. Here also took place an unsuccessful attempt on Hitler's life called operation Valkyrie which was also used as a Hollywood film story. An interesting fact did you know that Hitler was vegetarian!
The last day before arriving at my parents home we visited the largest Gothic castle complex in the world - Malbork Castle. It's on UNESCO heritage list.
Unfortunately on Monday you can't access interior tour but they give you a free ticket for external tour including audio translator🙂.
We slept at the Wisła river
Now preparing for a double birthday party for my mum and my niece.🙂
