Return journey
Just a quick update. We're almost home. Stopped close to Mantova for a nightband tomorrow we will arrive in Gramizzola. We kind of rushed through all the countries because we want to go to Sardegna next week.🙂
I had a lovely time visiting my uni friends in Łódź. The girls didn't change a bit and it's always crazy and fun to be around them since I was always the quiet one.😉
After that our next stop was Wieliczka - the UNESCO site- salt mine in Poland. It was quite scary thinking to be 130 m under earth but breath taking seeing those incredible rooms and sculptures made of salt! There were even 2 underground lakes. The tourist part goes only to level 3 but the whole mine has 8 levels and goes even deeper. In total we did 800 steps.Thank god there was a lift to take us up at the end!It kind of felt like being in Moria- the underground kingdom of dwarfes in the Lord of the rings!
We only had one stop in Hungary and we went to a small thermal baths. Hungary is full of them. There were a lot of older people chilling and drinking beer. Think me and Franco were the youngest 🤣. We got a bargain of 5 euros for both tickets so we also had a shower! Never enough opportunities to have a shower cose you always on the water saving quest in camper!
Yesterday we past Kobarid town in Slovenia and stopped to have a small walk along Soca- river. Unfortunately we decided to have an overnight stop on the Italian side since it was only 12 km away and as I mentioned before Slovenia is not very friendly towards wild camping. We stopped at Natisone river close to the village of Stupizza and it's a great place for trekking, swimming and climbing unfortunately a bit abandoned.
Franco couldn't believe his eyes when he saw a 3 kg trout and since it's a no kill zone he was heartbroken but not long now and he can fish again in Sardegna!!!
