TURKIYE SUM UP
Turkiye is such a huge country with so much to offer! With varied landscape changing from the sea to the mountains, canyons, salt lakes and dry steppes. On our way we only met kind people that greeted us curiously, offered us cay ( tea) and wanted to chat. Turkish people like staying together maybe that's why even in a huge empty picnic areas they would park next to you and put the loud music on 🤣🤣. The environmental education is way behind our standards. Sadly you can see rubbish laying all over except tourists cities that are kept clean for foreigners. Turkish economy is increasing however the standards of life are not equal for everyone. The food prices are high in the supermarket, more affordable if you're going to the local market.
I think Turkiye is definitely not a free country. We asked a Turkish family have they ever travelled outside Turkiye and they said it's difficult for them to get the passport if you don't know someone or work in a public administration. The internet access to social media is sometimes restricted and in general expressing negative public opinions torwards government can be monitored. Going more east torwards country borders( with whom Turkiye has still open conflicts with Siria and Kurdish minority )you can see military road blocks with tanks on the road and in general in whole country you get Jandarma road controls almost each day. On the other side the Jandarma and soldiers were always extremely nice and happy to chat, welcoming us in their country.
So to sum up there are negative and positive sides of travelling in Turkiye like in each country. We wouldn't recommend it to people that are not open minded and respectful torwards different habits that is if you want to really travel here.If you're here for a 2 week all inclusive holiday you don't have to worry because you obviously won't notice it.
