We briefly stopped at Fordongianus therms which are quite well known in Sardegna.  There is a small public bath by payment but most of the visitors take a bath directly in the river where small pools are divided by stones. You can also visit the old Roman therms situated next to the river. We only had a walk and decided to move on because it was extremely busy with campers and we prefer quieter atmosphere.  The next one -jackpot!! San Saturnino therms. Tiny place near Benetutti Town.  There are proper therms where by payment you can get treatments. In the fields not far away you can find 2 small rock tubs,big enough for 2 people that are free of charge but also quite busy. We met a lovely person Mario that showed us the other tub where mostly locals go. Everyone was very disciplined stayed in a queue and respect the 15 minute rule. Mario gave us an insight on the zone. We spent about 10 days in Sardegna. The weather started to be variable so after a few days of sun and sea we decided to adventure inside the island. We heard on the radio about Wine and Sardegna event at Sorgono village so that was our first stop😉.  But on our way we did a little trekking at Gennargentu mountains. We started the Punta Marmora trekking which is the highest peak of Sardegna (1800m) but we had to turn around at the bottom because of the weather forecast. You have to know when to quit. As you probably know Sardegna is famous for it's Blue Zones ( where you can find a high concentration of people living over 100 years old). One of the factors of their vitality is wine- in particularly Canonau variety. So we bought some from the local canteen to take it home.The event was full of wine and food stands and exhibition.I particularly liked the Is Arrested 'E S'Urtzu - dedicated to the ancient rite in Sardegna (see Google). ...

Last 3 weeks has flyed by. Time goes quickly when you're in a good company 🙂. We had enough time to discover stories between the island, meet new friends and get bored with the same places🤣. Being on the island limits moving around, especially in camper because there aren't a lot of roads suitable for camper but we discovered them by bike. Many people that come to San Pietro for at least 20 years do notice that since the TV series L' Isola di Pietro the place boomed with tourism and not in the good way.  ( the house that was the main set of the series) The special atmosphere has gone. For me it was the first time and I loved it, but don't think I would like to be here in August when the amount of people exceeds the island capacities. There are some sad stories of abandoned places and vandalism by local youth which is quite difficult to understand.On the photo you can see this huge hotel complex that was never completed and now is abandoned and vandalized. ...

Meravigliosa!Wow! Where to start! So far one of my preferred places in our travels. Franco has been here few times before. But I didn't expect it to be so beautiful! It has this special atmosphere maybe because it's very small roughly 20km X 20 km. It's four of us, Franco and I, Liz our friend that often goes on holidays with us and Davide that stays here 6 months a year but comes from Travo which is close to where we all live. It's always great to have an insider that knows all the stuff about the island 🙂 They all spearfish so we have fish every day!!There's only one town on the island- Carloforte with it's majestic ficus trees in the main square. The town has everything you need with restaurants, supermarkets and bars.And obviously is very lively so if you want to have fun you go to the city and if you want to have peace you can find a quiet beach with few people at this time of the year  .The rest are all the ...

Just a quick update.We're almost home. Stopped close to Mantova for a nightband tomorrow we will arrive in Gramizzola. We kind of rushed through all the countries because we want to go to Sardegna next week.🙂 I had a lovely time visiting my uni friends in Łódź. The girls didn't change a bit and it's always crazy and fun to be around them since I was always the quiet one.😉 After that our next stop was Wieliczka - the UNESCO site- salt mine in Poland. It was quite scary thinking to be 130 m under earth but breath taking seeing those incredible rooms and sculptures made of salt! There were even 2 underground lakes. The tourist part goes only to level 3 but the whole mine has 8 levels and goes even deeper. In total we did 800 steps.Thank god there was a lift to take us up at the end!It kind of felt like being in Moria- the underground kingdom of dwarfes in the Lord of the rings! It was a great month, lost in Swedish lakes and forests.The weather was variable.Going north it got quite chilly, but the last week was sunny and beautiful.The forest offered us mushrooms and lots of blueberries 🫐 and cranberries.  We picked them by hand and filled the freezer but next time we will copy the Swedes and buy a special kind of picker that they got here. Walking in the forest is like walking on a soft moquette.  The mosquitos weren't that bad, everyone scared us saying they're unbearable but in the places that we've been to there was a tolerable amount. We spoke to a Swedish couple and they confirmed that July is the most busy summer month. In August the weather is variable and the children start school on the 15th so most of Swedes go back home. Yes! We have crossed the Arctic Circle line🙂It wasn't that magnificent as you think,cose didn't even noticed the sign but still it counts 👍.  Maybe it would be different with the snow and polar lights🤔. Surely the signs were there aka reindeers everywhere! Cute as a button but dumb as a doorknob🤣.  A bit like our wild hares in Italy,once on the road don't know how to get off and continue to run straight ahead! Finally got some decent fish for supper🙂. Love the road signs here but no moose to be seen😭.  Fortunately visited this lovely local shop runed by Sami (indigenous tribe of Lapponia)family and got us some moose steaks😉.There is less traffic however camper spots are often taken so yes there are a lot of campervans in Sweden, mostly German.  We are heading south now as it took us 2 weeks to get here, we still have to go back down to get the ferry.
